Thanks to all those who turned out for the Christmas Ride Saturday 21st December. Those who braved the predicted weather conditions were rewarded by a dry ride if a little windy but the tailwind on the way home was greatly received, pushing the group quickly towards Leisure Lakes where they were joined by many other members to enjoy the coffee, mince pies and cake. A special thank you to Declan who had arranged a fantastic bespoke Daventry CC cake displaying a rider on a Cervelo – Thanks Declan.

The best dressed rider award went to John Beckett who entered into the spirit with reindeer adorning his helmet, tinsel on his cross bar, father Christmas hanging onto his seat post and an electric air-horn! Enjoy the wine John!
Barbara Hall came along and presented the John Hall Trophy and a voucher for Leisure Lakes, awarded each year to the club member is deemed to have significantly contributed to the club. This year the trophy was presented to Ruth who is a real stalwart supporting club rides in almost all weathers and ‘leading out’ on long climbs with her ‘Turbo’ selected. Ruth has also recently ‘volunteered’ to take over responsibility for club finances and is also helping to control rides by expert use of her referees whistle – ignore at your peril!
